Johnny Cash The Concert began in 2009 as a one off tibute night to The Man in Black.

Australian guitar legend Stuie French, a regular performer at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla, was asked by the venue to put together a Johnny Cash night and with that, Johnny Cash The Concert was born.

Stuie recruited award winning vocalist Daniel Thompson as the voice of the show and rockabilly Upright Bass player Artie Taylor to provide the much needed slap bass to drive that Johnny Cash feel. The show that first night was rounded out by Drummer Andy Travers.




A hugely successful 'one night only', turned into a sold out second night and then a succession of sold out performances at the southern Sydney venue.

After Gaining the attention of The Harbour Agency in Sydney, plans got underway in early 2012 for Johnny Cash The Concert's First National Tour.

Daniel was invited to Tour playing the role of Johnny Cash in the highly acclaimed and successful 'Class of 59' and once this tour wrapped up Johnny Cash The Concert hit the road!

Now 5 years and more than 60 thousand ticket sales later, Johnny Cash The Concert has earned the reputation as one of Australias best and most authentic tribute shows.

After rave reviews from our 2014 Golden Greats tour, Johnny Cash The Concert delivered knockout performances with Cash 60.

With the departure of Tamara Stewart to Nashville to persue her dream as a songwriter and performer in the home of country music, Cash 60 featured the great voices of Australian country music from all over the coutry singing June Carter's songs.
Camille Te Nahu, Amber Joy Poulton, Dana Hassall, Courtney Conway, Tracy Killeen and Johanna Hemara all joined the boys on this national tour.

After a 12 month hiatus from touring which saw just a a single Sold Out "One Night Only" performance at the Sydney Opera House in 2016, Johnny Cash The Concert hit the road in 2017, refreshed and ready to bring the energy and passion of Johnny Cash to full houses all around Australia.

Songs from the Grammy Award winning Soundtrack of the Cash biopic, "Walk The Line" featured in this show and Dan, Stuie and the Tennessee Express were again joined by some of Australias finest female vocalists singing the songs of Johnny and June. Camille Te Nahu, Rebecca Lee Nye, Courtney Conway, Megan Laurie and Felicity Urquhart were special guests.
